Established in April 2020, Belmont Strategy is a public affairs, PR and stakeholder engagement firm that specialises in the energy, planning and infrastructure sectors.

Based in Belfast, we advise market-leading clients on all aspects of engagement with elected representatives, government officials, the media, local communities and other stakeholders. This can be in relation to significant development projects or on broader policy issues affecting entire industries.

About the role

We are looking for public affairs consultant who can join the company at a junior/mid level to help support our clients and the growth of the business.

The role will involve a range of responsibilities and is perfect for someone with some experience in Northern Irish government relations, political communications and stakeholder engagement who wants an opportunity to take the next step in their career.

This position brings an opportunity for progression and the successful candidate will play an important role in our exciting plans for continued growth and expansion of the company.

As a Public Affairs/ PR Consultant at Belmont Strategy, the successful candidate will:

  • Become an important member of our growing team
  • Support and manage our work on client accounts and projects
  • Undertake political and news monitoring
  • Support the delivery of events (corporate events, community consultation/public exhibition events)
  • Think creatively, providing innovative public affairs-based solutions on challenging assignments
  • Be team player who encourages and supports the growth and success of their colleagues
  • Be commercially astute
  • Be keen to progress and grow professionally
  • Show a willingness to play their part in delivering results for our clients

We’re looking for someone who can show:

  • Experience in public affairs/PR, looking for a unique opportunity for career progression
  • Experience in a consultancy setting
  • Understanding of the political and business landscapes in NI
  • An ability to prepare briefing materials on often complex subjects
  • An ability to write press releases, opinion pieces, articles and digital content for a range of audiences
  • An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A professional yet personable manner with clients, colleagues and associates
  • Ambition to grow their level of responsibility and progress with the role and the company
  • Commitment to first-class client service
  • Creative thinking not afraid to bring new ideas
  • Full driving license with access to own vehicle

Please note: Experience in the energy, planning and/ or infrastructure sectors would be an advantage.
